Proud to Be a Part of G(irls)20 - Bootcamp For Brains!

Time sure flies when you're having fun! I used to run a not-for-profit called One Big Movement, and that's why I was so intrigued when I was asked to create branding material for the Bootcamp For Brains conference for the not-for-profit organization, G(irls)20.

G(irls)20 places girls and women at the heart of the economic decision making process by advancing the idea that increasing female labour force participation will generate growth, stabilize communities and countries, and lead to social innovation.

One of their key programs called Bootcamp For Brains is an annual event that brings together 15-17 year old girls for a week to teach them important life skills from the Art of Leadership to the Art of Personal Branding. You can view the details in the conference guide that I created for the program here.

The following branding material was created over a span of 6 weeks, where Aimee (the lead organizer) and I worked closely together to create the individual pieces of artwork that you see here. For the designs, I played around with the idea of integrating brains into the mix, wrapping that around very soft and cute branding to appeal to the audience of the conference.

It was a fun project to work on, and the results definitely showed!

I love great stories - I have a deep passion for doing things that tells a great story, and I want to learn about yours. I’ve been fortunate enough to start / work with some amazing individuals in my life, building non-profits, charities, for-profit companies, etc. I love the freedom of creating something from nothing - it's absolutely rewarding. I love to fail hard and fast - it’s not only a great way to learn, but also a fantastic way to have some great stories and reflections to tell after. My natural curiosity for life is what drives me to explore new opportunities, and what typically leads me into scenarios (often funny!) most wouldn’t put themselves in.
